Newsletter 2010-06
Editorial
How cool was that game against Mexico? Talk about boxing above your weight! Gave me a warm and fuzzy just to be South African. So I'll make this newsletter short, I've got soccer to watch.
Quotation
Some say quotations sound fancier in Latin than in Eglish. Some say some questions don't have answers. All we know is "Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?"
Karaoke
Let me type this very slowly, and very carefully, because appararently I'm really bad with dates! The IDS karaoke evening will take place on Saturday 26 June 2010 at 7:00 PM at Irene Homes. Note the time of 7:00PM as opposed to 7:30PM. Hugo and JR de Groot are putting it together and it's sure to be great fun. All the usual suspects will be there, including me, though I probably won't sing. Which is for the best, really!
So bring your friends, your siginificant others, your progeny, your progeny's progeny, your parentals and anyone else you can find and come along to the karaoke. The more the merrier.
We have also been asked to dress as our favourite singer to add some character to this event. I'm thinking of either Leonard Cohen, or Shakira. What do you think? If you are looking for a costume, may I suggest our friends at Scrooge and Marley in Jean Avenue.
Food and drink will be on sale and entrance is only R25-00, no matter how many songs you sing!
See y'all there!

It's kind of fun spotting mistakes in movies and TV shows, though not as easy as you might think. Here's some help for you: http://www.moviemistakes.com/
End
An imaginary prize if you can work out what that Latin quote means. Meanwhile, be good, and see you at the karaoke.
